TRAVEL ESSENTIALS
Your cruise holiday checklist
So you’ve booked your Turkey cruise and you’re thinking, ‘what else do I need to do to get myself travel ready?’ Well, we’ve put together a list of travel essentials* to help get you started – from flights to ferries; eSims to storage.
Turkey’s currency is the Turkish lira (₺) – so make sure to sort out your travel money card before you leave.
Keep these tips in mind when travelling:
- Always have a back-up card handy in case your main card gets lost.
- Don’t. Forget. Cash. While a lot of businesses in tourist areas accept credit or debit cards, there are still plenty who don’t – especially in more remote areas.
- Keep your travel money in a safe place that isn’t easily accessed by pick pockets.
Do you need a passport to enter Turkey? Yes.
Do you need a visa? Maybe.
Should you check passport and visa restrictions before booking your cruise holiday? Absolutely.
To make sure you meet any entry requirements, find more information from the Republic of Turkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

FAQs
Can you book travel essentials for me?
We’re small ship cruise specialists. While we’d love to help with all your extra booking needs, we think it’s best to leave it to the experts. You can book directly with any specialists listed in our travel essentials, or chat with your local travel agent if you need more help.
Can you help me with an existing booking for travel essentials?
Unfortunately, we can’t access or make bookings for specialist (third-party) providers. Chat with any listed providers directly for help or recommendations.
Do I have to book everything listed on this page?
Nope. It’s your holiday and your choice. While some arrangements might be required (a passport) or strongly recommended (an eSim), ultimately, you need to organise or book whatever is right for you.
