Turkey – Travel Updates 2021
Turkey had a reasonably good summer season in 2020 considering the circumstances. Covid-19 cases and deaths were relatively low compared to other countries, especially taking into account Turkey's large population (8500 covid-releated deaths out of a population of 85 million).
Travel with us in 2021Due to the upheaval from the recent pandemic, we are changing our payment terms for 2021 by building in more flexibility as follows:
- a £50 GBP per person deposit to secure your spaces, with the final balance due 8 weeks before departure (previously 10 weeks before departure). However, a £100 GBP per person deposit is still payable for large group bookings (over 15 people).
- No fee for changing your date of departure, up to 6 weeks beforehand (subject to availability).
- Continuing to honour deposits as credit, which means you can transfer your deposit amount over to 2022 if need be.
Safety on board
We will be implementing new covid-aware measures on our boats that include extra cleaning of shared areas and provision of hand-sanitiser.
Companies who care: the future of travel
We have been disappointed in the way that many travel companies have dealt with the pandemic upheaval. Their customers have been leaving online feedback about a lack of refunds, communication and changing terms and conditions retrospectively.
We are proud of our response to the crisis: we strived to answer all customer emails within 24-48 hours (even at the peak of the crisis) and we issued balance payment refunds to customers who had paid in full, and credit for the next 2 years to those who had only paid deposits. Only smaller, locally-focussed companies such as ourselves can do this!
We look forward to welcoming you back to Turkey in 2021 and beyond!
